The Young Money crew are back breaking all the records. Drake and Niki Minaj have owned the entertainment news this week, after both made music history. This comes as a result of both artists releasing new music; Drake with playlist album More Life, and Niki with her latest tracks No Frauds, Regret in Your Tears and Changed It.

Streaming record-breaker Drake
Drake’s More Life playlist, which is more of an album really, beat Ed Sheeran’s mega-success Divide for most streams of all time. Ed, however, was never safe, as all of Drakes albums since Thank Me Later have achieved similar streaming successes. His 2009 debut album So Far Gone is his only album not in this category. More Life, which showcases some of the best artists, is likely to go to the number one spot in the album charts. The Canadian’s 81 minute collection of music has a definite British feel to it, with artists like Skepta, Giggs, Sampha and Jorja Smith all appearing. Other notable contributors include Kanye West, Travis Scott and PartyNextDoor. This range of talent has brought a variety of sounds to More Life, which gives it R&B, hip-hop, grime, trap, dancehall and afrobeat elements.

Queen of the Hot 100 Nicki Minaj
Niki Minaj managed to beat a longer standing record, achieving the most appearances on Billboard’s Hot 100 for a female artist, stealing the crown from Aretha Franklin. Her three new tracks have brought her total Hot 100 entries up to 76, the most of any woman ever, overtaking Franklin’s 73. Minaj posted to her Instagram ‘Walked off stage to find out history was made yet again… to my fans: I fkn love u guys more than ever be able to put in words. Thank you so much for your unwavering love & support’.
